Mercedes's new original, "Periwinkle Sky" is featured on the current (September 2003) cover of Kauai Visitor Magazine. The magazine describes her as "...a color expert...her original mixtures with clear, fluid, and harmonizing hues set her apart..."

Mercedes created the first poster, featuring "Glory", an original watercolor composition, for the annual Prince Albert Music Festival. The festival is presented by the Prince Albert Foundation and dedicated to the memory of Prince Albert Edward Kauikeaouli Lei o Papa a Kamehameha (1858-1862), only child of King Kamehameha and Queen Emma, the festival celebrates Kauai's diverse cultural heritage and unique beauty and dedicated to the preservation of historical quilts and perpetuation of classical and Hawaiian music. "Glory" is available in the original, giclee, and poster.
