- What is a Giclee?
- The word Giclee is French and means "to spray or squirt". Essentially, it's a process using incredibly accurate computer controlled jets to apply archival pigmented ink to acid free high quality watercolor paper or canvas. Giclees have a higher resolution than lithographs, and the color range is greater than serigraphy. A high quality Giclee is virtually indistinguishable from a watercolor original.
- How should I frame the artwork?
- Frame the artwork according to your personal taste. We strongly suggest, however, using a UV coated Plexiglas to ensure lasting beauty. We like to use Koa Wood , indigenous to our islands, as a framing material on our Hula Dancer. We also "float" her on archival quality mats and boards and show the edges since they are "torn" to have a look simulating the edge of the watercolor paper.
- How should I care for the artwork?
- To ensure long life for your newly acquired art, use archival mats and boards and keep the artwork away from direct sunlight and areas of high humidity.
